Challenge: Color The Predator

Are you the same guy with the Spawn image you want coloured?? I think maybe you should try some tutorials that are around on the net? I doubt you'll learn anything from other people doing it for you??

I'm not the same guy who posted the Spawn one. I just want to see this picture colored so I can see it on my desktop in full color! I have seen the amazing work other people have done and I am interested to see what can be done with the Predator...

Looking good except that water being blue, doesnt look right to me.

The water should be darker...right now it reminds me of a nice beach! It is in the jungle and jungle water is dirty and dark, so maybe a dark dirty blue? Same with the foliage - a little darker, but keep in mind its just my opinion - you are doing fantastic!

i think there's too much contrasting colours .... try to make a focus point with ur colour for instance in this pic the focus is at the predator so his colours would be contrasting with the rest..... now the colours are too strong....

I like mah unfinished predator better. Mostly becoz i dont like the usage of the lasso and gradient tools that much (that and becoz Photopaint does not have gradient tool).

As for the tools, well while they ease the work, i think it becomes more 'filtered' and a bit unnatural work. I just use layers and airbrush. My opinion is that if you are going to use lasso and gradient, you will have to add a lot of details and nice stuff. Like what? Well, compare 98' Spawn color at comics with the same age Xmen comics. Spawn colorers add lots of nifty stuff.

uhm cgfreak, take a look at HieSpike's predator.... that's what i'm expecting.... all the colours are harmony, and there's a focus point since the bg is blurred... and he added the tones on the predator to bring out the 3d look so that the character stands out more... it's more pleasing to the eye when all the colours click together.... get what i mean?
