View Full Version : dual probs
flipnap 03-07-2002, 10:01 PM This is a dual card issue. Im using a geforce 3ti200 in agp and tnt32mb in pci. For some reason maya's grapheditor and hypershade dope sheet etc. will not display the port, only menu items funtion on the secondary. I know open gl wont go across two monitors because of windows 2000, but i remember these windows working when i tried this same thing with a geforce2 pci card. i tweaked an opengl setting in riva tuner, i think to allow overlays across spanning monitors and it worked.. but now i get nothing and that option is greyed out in the riva tuner.. is this a TNT vs Geforce 2 pci issue? Thanks yall

i get the same same thing... one monitor the main.. has a 64mb hercules 3dprophet II and the second monitor has the 32 mb ati all in wonder radeon... and i get the same thing... the main works great but on the second i don't get it to work... for exaple the renders wont display on the render view on the second monitor... but anything that is a menu (like the attr editor) works ok on the second monitor...
i dunno i thought it was an open gl issue... but no idea...
i guess that the meaning of this reply is to say.
:D dude ... you're not alone!!!! :D
i wonder if there is anything to do about it?....

Same old disapointment, running two monitors on one GeForce 4 should fix all this when it arrives in stores. In the meantime you might want to read this: http://www.realtimesoft.com/multimon/ogl/

you guys, i figured out some very interesting things last night.. first of all, you can split open gl across two cards, PCI and AGP. so far the only combo that worked for me was two geforce 2 mx cards. apparently there is an extra setting in the open gl tab under the standard control panel for displays.. this is not a hack but apparently something that onyl pops up with certain combos of nvidia based GPU.. and it wont work with rivaTNT as a secondary. it also wont work with a geforce 2in the pci and a geforce 3 in the primary. i dont know why this wont work but a geforce2 and 2 will. im looking into it. anyway, the setting is called something like "enable advanced monitor" or " enable advance dual monitor" or something to that extent. check that off and you'll have open gl across the board.. ill keep you guys posted
