All,

I'm fairly new to texturing and would like some assistance. I have created a model within 3dsm and am would like to create a texture that includes this vest:http://www.aggressor-group.com/lbt/vest02/1879/1879a_desfs01.jpg

However, as I said, I am new to texturing. I've read through dozens of tutorials, played around with this on my own but cannot get something that looks somewhat realistic. Any suggestions/comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Three possibilities that will tell you as much as you will learn anywhere:

1)www.onona3d.com

(look in articles for texturing for dummies tutorial set)

2) www.blueportal.org/modules.php?name=News&file=topics&topic=26-

or:
www.blueportal.org

look in menu (left of page)3d section , 1st page

look for a downloadable book DIGITAL TEXTURING AND PAINTING
you may have to use a password. it is printed below info on book.

3)http://www.deathfall.com/article.php?sid=2659

Dr Julians Texturing tutorial.

I also have a huge collection of links for sites, tutorials, textures and just about everything else on my site:

Thanks, Robert. I'm looking into the tutorials. However, the one to download the Digital Texture is not working. But I'm researching the links/tuts from your site. As an experienced digital artist, if you were to design something like this, how would you proceed? Thanks again!
