Title: Cold Mig
Name: Eric Ennis
Country: France
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop, VRay
Hello;
this is my latest work, i tried to give this scene a really cold feeling, but not as a dead scene.
i used 3ds max and vray for this image, displacement for the snow, and photoshop for final touches and colour corrections.
hope you like it

Very nice! Great scene and awesome texturing. You've nailed the snow. Only crit is that the icicles look a little too even and too smooth... and perhaps too uniform in size. But it's a minor thing in an outstanding image.

I'm afraid the MiG-29 looks neither realistic nor accurate. But the snow on the other hand is fantastic! :thumbsup:

Awesome, very convincing.
Seems you rushed the falling snowflakes a bit though.

this just blows my mind... I only work with zbrush, (i can't afford 3DS) but all the tracks in the snow, is what sets it off for me, that is soooo wild. The only thing missing that would make this just perfect, is the human element. I am thinking a pilot climbing the ladder to get in the jet, with maybe some red oscilating lights going around from above, o.k maybe not the lights, but definitely the human. AWSOME! :thumbsup:

hi everyone, thanks for the comments and feedback,
now that you mention it i do think the falling snow doenst look nice, guess i did it too quickly in the end, should have messied it up a bit add chaos to it, maybe will update it later on, maybe a little motion blur added with DOF well i'll give it a try i guess
thanks everyone for the com and crits
ciao

I'd give it five stars, but it's missing a good level of realistic ambiant occlusion and the textures of the plane are simply too clean. 3 stars from me. However the overall image is pleasing to the eye. The snow is amazing.
