this is the . blend file. read on before looking at it please!

layer 1: Lighting... just testlighting... the real lighting will be totally different
layer 2: dress... just started.. please give comments and critiques!!! i know the parts are kinda unproportional but i want it to be a fairy and not a real person... please tell me if i overdid it.... the static particles are gonna be fur
layer 3: ground testure... it will be filled with stuff so you won't see to much of it soon! grass in the background just as a filler...
layer 4: Big and little tree... started working on those textures already so please give c&c !!! i'm not very good a t texturing...
layer 5: THE HEAD... i am very proud of it! but still c&c on this is always welcome... oh don't worry about the neck i'm gonna shorten it as soon as i have a body!
layer 11: main grass object
layer 20: my try at a body but it totally didn't work!!! so please help me!
all other layers: nothing lol

Thanks so much guys for helping... I'm not a noob anymore but i'm faaaaaaar away from pro!

Okay here some first renders!
The head will probably be changed a little since it doesn'e look "cute" enough and is supposed to be an elven head...
The dress is still in the beginning stage but c&c is of course still welcome!

Its a good starting point. Although you might want to use to submit these as modelling entries. And more views of the head and wires of course would be nice.

The sketch is not very detailed but it gives an idea about what is going to happen... She stays in a dieing forest while everyone leaves her and runs to the sunny side...

The elven head... I still have to work on making it look sad and vulnearable!

The dress the fairy elve will wear. I will probably still change the colour and texture a little. Proportions are a little of too.

I have now put the two together added the hair, eyes and started on the body... The skin texture still needs a lot of work... and i might make the hair blonde... well i hope you guys can slowly see where this is going...

This is going really nice! I like the character and design on the clothes, the hair is
looking great too, just fits the clothes!
Anxious to see the final piece!

She looks kind of gothic right now! You should definetly experiment with mh sss shaders for her skin. Also the life of the hair is a bit off, i think it needs to be lower so that the strands are smoother. They are currently faceted.

Hey!! Coming quite well!

though i still think the proportion of body to head is a bit odd. The head is much to big. :D

Well this is the first pic where i put all together... There is still A LOT missing! The girl still needs arms, feet and smaller brests... The water goes down really steep in the background which i have to show more... The background image is just to see the reflection... and much much more... I hope I will finish in time! C&C ALWAYS welcome! It keeps me working!

Smaller breasts? I think they could be less wide. The tree is texture nicely although it blends into the ground which has a similar color tone.

I know you are also working with Blender (as my Wenichkeit) and i can give you a bit specific Blender critic yeah...

ok first the waves on the water: if u did this with the Blender internal Wave effekt, try adding another wave starting at a different point so they overlap ... maybe with a difference in height. What looks best is, (because i suspect u dont want to animate it) to use a Displacement map for the waves, such as Musgrave or Stucci, while deactivatong Col and activating nor and displ. (but not too high :argh: )

second, i know myself how difficult it is to work with strands. i would reduce the specular on the grass to an almost minimum, and activate tangent shading with a bit more round value. also u can tell the grass to bend abit so it doesnt look so stiff, by activating a x or z force in the effects buttons.

the tree needs a bumd map, although it probably already has normal map on, it needs a displacement map... the mesh resolution ahs to be high enough to look good in displacement mapping so dont forget to subsurf.
