Which is considered better, ie, easier to use/more versatile: The Setup Machine or Final Rig Pro, in respect of course to Maya? Sorry if this has already been answered as I didn't find it in a search.

I happen to know both developers are dedicated to delivering great products - but in the end nothing like this is quite as 'easy' as you'd hope.

TSM's biped rig (http://www.rafhashvideotapes.com/lib/rafhashvideotapes/TSM2Mguy.zip) incorporates almost everything you need for a standard rig, the videos suggest it's reasonably straightforward to setup, and i really like the amount of stretchyness and flexability of also being able to animate the proxy objects directly. Certainly seems very versatile.

I tried the old version of Final Rig a few years back and while I liked enough to use it a couple of times, I didn't really get on with it entirely, and dropped it eventually in favour of my own rigs. Tho I see that there's also a character rig (http://www.radiantsquare.com/modules/wmpdownloads/visit.php?cid=1&lid=15) available for Final Rig LE / Pro now too - so might be worth checking them both out before you decide.

For me right now, given what I've seen and heard so far - I'd choose The Setup Machine.

Thank you for your response steveblake I appreciate it. I guess I'll give them both a try but chances are I'll get hooked on the first one I use which will be TSM.
