What did you use to do this work? Program wise and did you create the meteor in a compositing or a 3d program. The stuff looks good but the way it hits looks real bad and the sfx dont help sell the shot. Id say if a meteor were to hit a car it would blow it up not just hit the side of the car and push it aside. Id say bigger explosion once it makes contact the full frame should be fire and smoke.

Yeah, everybody thinks it should blow up,.. but I thing that since the car is light compared to the meteor weight and speed it should not offer much resistance,... plus,.. I know in movies every car blows it doesn´t matter where they get hit,.. but in real life is not like that...

software used was 3dsmax and after effects.

thanks for your reply

cool man...cool idea...

one thing i would say is have you ever seen a car after getting hit by a train? they got serious momentum...same with a meteorite falling from space!! the car should get POUNDED into the earth, and a bigger camera shake would help that too. it looks like the momentum from the car is more than the meteorite because the car kept going forward, if it were a real scenario, the car would be pumelled into the ground, the meteorite would cut it like butter. maybe do that, have the meteorite rip the car in 2, and have the front end still kinda skidding along the road. and a big camera shake. that would be sweet!!

I think its a good start, maybe you should cut the text down though, because there seems to be 25 seconds of text and 5 seconds of animation. I reckon there should be alot more ground damage and the car looks for to flimsy and light, if an astroid hit it, i dont think it would move so much, it would just get destroyed and broken apart:)
