click here (http://www.jizzypop.com/LWsaber1.avi) to see the animation. its 2.3 mbs.

it was modeled and rendered in lightwave 7.0, took me about a day to model it and 3-4 hrs to render and it has 8487 polys.

(*note* might work better if you right click - save as)

I can.

And I think the metal of the saber is to reflective.
Other than that. It looks neatly done. Some sharp edges, but they may be intentional - I don't know lightsabers that well.

okay here (http://www.jizzypop.com/LWsaber2.avi) is an update to the video (3.75mbs)

this render took almost 9 hrs, is there something wrong with that? i used raytracing reflections, medium antialiasing and DOF. i have a 1.3ghz amd athlon and 512k ram. it just seems like thats kinda long for such a simple video

your texture is ****ing awsome, i my self have done mauls, obi's and lukes so far, but i was shite with textureing them,

one comment though, the end of teh saber is supposed to have a wide opening for the beam emmiter i belive, i have it in my Sci Fi weapons manual i got from like 15 years ago,

The animation seems a bit lifeless.

When people download a 2 meg animation they expect to see an animation. :(
You could show several images from different angles.

Ok, i like it but the animation (?) is too fast, make it slower or put some images... and go on with the lazer and the glow...
