CGTalk - Depth of field

Hi there

I am looking for a software or a plugin (for AE) to get a nice and convincing depth of field in my cg shoots. I could directly get this effect with my 3D package but I think you are more flexible applying it afterwards. (Or what do you think about it?)

definately apply DOF in post. Rendering it in engine may produce good results but really good DOF is expensive (in time needed) to render and anything that's really fast is probably pretty poor. Also, if you have to fix one small thing you'll have to render everything over again. So stick w/ DOF in post.

Google "Lenscare" and follow those links. It's made by a german company and I think it's $200 for an AE plugin, but it does very nice DOF rendering.
