View Full Version : perspective view vertex problems
Solesurvivor 12-28-2002, 03:52 PM this really really pisses me off:

you see, when i try to move a vertex in perspective view, it instantly bounces that far away, no one inch closer to the original origin....
In the other viewports no problems, but this is very very frustrating to work with...
I've tried different drivers(direct3d,OpenGl, Maxtreme), but that wasn't the solution...
Can anyone help me with this?

Yup, max does that. You scale is probably way too small. Check on that. Max is very picky about scale. Also, however, if you are trying to freeform move a vertex without the transform gizmo, or with too large a change, it will doe this. It's trying to take your mouse movements and guess where you want to go.
You really should be using your gizmo, or another viewport to do this sort of thing. It's not a bug, just you method it wrong.

well, i was using the transform gizmo, you could see it at the right edge of the picture, but i got so frustrated , i pushed a lot of buttons, and suddenly, it just worked smoothly, so i'm not complaining anymore...
and I also tried different scales, didn't matter how small or big I put it, it was always the same... very weird, but it's solved now so, everybody's happy

I've heard a lot of people complaing about such problem, and didn't have it at least one time since max1.
Maybe you play to much with your mouse wheel to zoom in/out ? Sometimes just press u, adjust zoom, and repress p :wip:
