One of my favorite books! I hope they don't mess this up. *waits with great anticipation*

On another note, Dakota Fanning is in like every bloody movie in existence. :argh:

hmm talking pig, talking rat, talking spider, talking farm animals, floaty silk threads, rotten eggs. Good memories.

I'll probably watch this just for nostalgia. Loved that cartoon version.

Just watched the trailer.

Hmm, I've found this book and re-read a few months back. It was a wonderful read. However, I do remember it being a lot more wistful than what this trailer seems to portray; There seems to be many more action sequences in this movie than depicted in the book. I guess it's only natural as the target audience are kids.

I really think the Charlotte from the cartoon version had a sweeter and more vulnerable voice than Julia Roberts. She certainly pulled my heartstrings at the end. I like wilbur's voice actor as a kid better though. If I'm not wrong there was a man voicing wilbur in the cartoon... and then again, I can't really remember.

I remember the cartoon version with rose tinted glasses. I bet if I were to sit thru it again, I'd probably find it not as appealing as I used to.

I really canīt understand why a trailer to a film like this - classic history, great voice talent and production values - would need a fart joke. It makes the whole thing look really cheap .

Hearing Operah say "There's a reason people call me mother goose" kind-of made me go "o-kay, this is highly disturbing" as well. Trailer looked really cheap and terribly Babe-inspired.

Hey, it can't show in China, it's got talking animals! And it has an absense of large drops of water falling down people's heads.

Well, as far as being Babe inspired, it is made by the same people who did the FX work on Babe and won an Academy award on that one, but I think it's kind of hard to say "cheap" when that's considered.

I totally agree with the last 2 posts, a little cheap looking, and seems like its aimed at the younger age bracket. I didn't even buy the lip syncing... hmm, my final thought was that the whole thing looked rushed.. the cartoon was so important in my growing years, and this juts didn't live up to that. Oh well... blah blah

Thank god none of the animals burped their A B C's. ;) Hollywood seems to think that burp and farts are high in demand with todays youth unfortunately. I cant wait for that to go away.

It is an abject violation of the immutable laws of the universe for John Cleese an' his ex-parrot, to be over his sell by date at any time. He is cling filmed for comdey freshness, baby, ready to silly walk his bloody-minded englishness into your lives at anytime at the drop of a spanish waiter, anywhere.......he's a.....genius!

Um, er got carried away there so.....

Just my humble opinion

I didn't even buy the lip syncing... hmm, my final thought was that the whole thing looked rushed.. The pig only said 2 words. Your judging his entire performance on 2 words? :)

"Why doesn't my talking pig look realistic?" Pahaha, I love that one.

I'm hoping it turns out well. I remember bawling my eyes out when I first saw it at the Drive-in. :)

My only gripe so far is all the big names for the voices. Call me wierd but I find it hard to "accept" animated / talking animal characters if the voice is so obviously recognisable as someone else. Charlotte just sounded like Julia Roberts talking off stage. I'd prefer it if they either used unknows or simply profesional voice actors who can do voices that just "fit" the character.... come back Mel Blanc.

That's because it does, sadly. At the Saturday night showing in the first week of Ice Age 2's release here in the Northeast I was accompanied by hundreds of little kids. The sequence with the "mammoth sounds" actually turning out to be a mammal with bad gas lit the entire theatre up.

I hate fart jokes as much as everyone else, but there's a line to be drawn. Don't mix up what youths think and what you think.

Theres really only one way to make a pig talk, how can they make it seem different from Babe?

Seeing as Babe was inspired by Charlotte's web and not the other way around it kinda sucks that the film babe beat Charlotte to the theater. I can't wait to see Zuckerman's famous pig in action though!

Now within the next few years if hollywood can squeeze out george orwell's Animal Farm, I'd be happy.

Now within the next few years if hollywood can squeeze out george orwell's Animal Farm, I'd be happy.I believe it was Halmark that did a few years ago. It was very boring. Animals talking for an entire movie just isn't that exciting. Especially in a more serious movie.

I saw Animal Farm.
