View Full Version : Vehicle: Customized Child's Pedal car
Hi all!
This is a childrens' pedal car that I modelled back in Max 1.2. Nothing fancy really... a few lights here and there and voila!
Any crits are welcome!
Thanks!

I agree, it's not a very constructive critic but I like a lot :) Ab

...it seems a little "boxy" in some areas.
Here's a fire chief version. I apologize if the car looks boxy, but that's what the original looks like. I'm attching the reference pics I used as well as the fire chief. Thanks forthe crits & comments!!

Hey, I like this! I remember having a pedal car when I was a kid... nothing this fancy though... some plastic thing. But I had tons of fun with it! Very simple scene and simple lighting. Good job!
Not a bad job from looking at those reference pics!
Keep up the good work!

Thanks Viper!
This car was done about 3 years ago I think...and I just recently found the renders. I started rebuilding the car earlier this after noon because I've always like the look of this particular car. The original car I modeled was complete down to every nut and bolt and was functional in that if you turned the steering wheel, the wheels would turn and if you moved the pedals, the car would move along with it. I just don't remember how I did it! I'd like to redo the car and use some more advanced lighting on it. Should be cool.
I can post progress if anyone's interested.
Thanks again for the comments!

it would be great with some rust and cracks, with the look of old, as said earlier. some bumped space would also fit perfectly.
cheers

I like the first image. Something about all of the colors that just jel well together. The fire car thing is just a little too bright / reflective.
I'd recommend at least a couple stars for the first pic though!
Good work!

Hey Thanks TSG!
I know I made the paint material is a bit glossy. This was made before the advent of the fancy renderers like FinalRender and Brazil. It was also the days of the REM ModelBank... with their neato lighting. I tried to copy that lighting scheme and it was just too bright with the paint. I'm redoing the car and guarantee it will look better. I think I'm going to texture it both rusted / beatup and also as a new looking toy (comprised of an actual backgroound and not just a colored plane!)
Thanks again.
Keep the crits coming, they'll only help me on the new version.
