CGTalk - Where has the physical checkbox gone?

View Full Version : Where has the physical checkbox gone?

Hi,

I'm reading about GI and caustics. My book is written for maya 5, but I'm working in version 6.5.

In the caustics and global illumination tab in the ligths attributes, there shuold be a checkbox called "physical". But I don't have it.

Where is it now and what is the reason it have been moved?

now u have a physical light shader, plug it in the mental ray light shader slot ;)

Hello, no need to use physical light , use the decay rates, now it works fine with mentalray :)
