I'm not a real big fan of baseball in particular, but I had a sketch that was just itching to be painted. I thought of all the baseball movies that I had seen and really wanted to convey some of that drama that you always get at the climax.

This is my first post here...I'm only 3 paintings into my digital painting career and I'm HOOKED! By the way, I used Photoshop. I hope you guys dig it.

Love it Jose! Great style and nicely nostalgic too. One crit... he's slightly off centre. If the bat was raised at a higher angle it would come in slightly at the top, and he could then be centred a bit more. But great stuff non-the-less. :)

Ballplayers shift their weight back and forth. Mojodesign, it's fine where it's at. Great character design! Love it! Love to see it animated too.

I wasn't commenting on the pose, just the positioning of the character in the composition. It wasn't negative, hopefully helpful and my opinion! :)

Hey, nice character design. Wish there's more characters included in tis peice. Anyway, looking forward to yr future post here.

Thank you everyone for the nice words and comments! I truly appreciate it.

oh and Pkok, I really wanted to make this painting all about the one baseball player....but don't worry you'll be seeing plenty of more characters from me. It's what I like doing best :)
