I have a couple of After Effects specific qns at the moment although I have been trying to learn Java in my spare time. After Effects uses Java so it would be a great language to learn. Does it get any easier? I was going through the introduction and tutorials on the Sun website and got totally lost on one page. I was understanding till that point.

Sure it gets easier. It's like anything else.

If you get stuck on a specific part of one of their tutorials the forums here http://forum.java.sun.com/index.jspa might be a good place to ask a question. Or if you can put a link up to the thing that's got you stumped and ask a few questions I will be happy to give it a shot for you.

As long as it's vaguely graphics related there's no reason why you can't ask here. Numerous people around here seem to have used Java to some extent or other, so it's likely someone will be able to answer your questions.
