I really like the eye area. Very nice. Is the tip of the snout bone?? I can't find any good ref on google that show the head. Either way very nice.

Don't forget to feather the beast. Scales are so old-hat.

Hmmm,,díno's. Looking good there Dawg, keep it up.

GARjones : only some small theropods have been proven to have feathers, the rest still probably had scales.

Looking at the other 2 dino's in your signature i'm sure this will be an amazing dinosaur.
Only crits i may have are the belly region and the breast muscle region....both could more defined by making these regions abit bigger.

Most of the modeling is done, just some details and general tweaking to go before im happy.
Really lame renders, Im still a newb in that area of XSI.

Great...I like the depth of the first displacement, I feel that you begin to loose the flow of the modeling with too much bump.

Just my 2˘

I can't see any UV map borders...Very good.

TimMehmet

heya Joel,
yea I agree Iv toned down the depth a bit more and done a bit more painting to the maps, next priority is the colour scheme, which Im still undecided on. Im leaning towards auburn/redish colours. Any suggestions welcome :)

Bit dark but good choice to go for sss !

wybl
05-28-2006, 07:17 PM
Looks like it has an egg in its eyesocket \o/

Model and displacement is awesome but scale of the bump is maybe a lil off at some places. Don't overdo the SSS, I figured dino's had a very tough skin which is not as waxy as human skin.

keep it up

thanks for the comments guys,
@wybl: lol true say, Im working on a new eye right now.
New render with HDRI, really toned the SSS down to make it more subtle.
still working on the maps inclduing colour.

Really great work man ! Where did you get the references from ? I haven´t found any good dino blueprints or something like that...

bobzilla

Nice textures. Love the displacements.

As far as the last pic, I think the animal in the bacl left looks perfect. Fits in really naturally. The other too don't look bad, just not as good as the guy in the back. Maybe they need more definition in the dark areas or to be lightened up in general.

Nice integration overall!

TimMehmet
07-14-2006, 02:35 PM
Thanks for the replies guys heh
@bobzilla: Yea I can see what you mean, and I think it renderd out pretty well into the environment, the only thing I dont like about the back dino is it seems to distract from the composition somewhat :/ Ill try bringing out the shadows a bit more on the foreground dinos, thanks for the crits :)

eosmusashi
07-14-2006, 03:54 PM
it still looks like too much bump to me but the lighting will tell better

Try making a render with a skylight or something that diffusses the shadows to all directions

Excellent dinosaur, never heard of it before and I considered myself a dinosaur expert... :D
