Currently starting up on a new next gen development team, I notice that the approach here is rather old school and although I have not been keeping up on development as much as I should I know things like turning animations(rather than rotating on the spot), responding to walking into walls and objects, more advanced blending, procedural modding, etc is becoming more common in realistic games.
Can anyone suggest any videos (ingame videos would be cool), articles or whatever I can check out to learn more?
