I've been out of the loop for some time now ....and was wondering what route people go most often now a days when modeling charaters in maya.....

last I saw was the Video on how they did Bingo...the Patch Modeling Head deal....

I know most people have their own prefered ways...but what is the most commonly used now a days?

thanks in advance

Polys are fun to start with. I find them easier to work with than nurbs (mostly because nurbs hate me). I've seen a lot of characters done in polys and then coverted to subDs. I think a lot of folks are using the Poly to SubD work flow these days. But it just depends on what you're comfy with.

will do, thanks. i'm still struggling right now to get back into the swing of things.... Max has been mean to me and I started to toy around in MPLE again. the last character I made was in the way they did the little girl in the bingo video....so I'll try my hand at the Poly method you all have suggested.

thanks again!

wow, that is a nice tutorial he has there....thanks Lunatique for that link. I'll have to jump out of Max for a few days and give that a try in Maya. Thank you again!
