I have been using ATM delux for past few year, but now adobe has discontinued this Application.

Sometime i have problems managing fonts, like

1. in case of computer crash or reinstalling OS i need to install ATM , i loose my old font sets ( i devided it as sans, serif etc), again so i need to go through all the fonts to make the sets again. Is there any way to keep back up of the font list in ATM?

2. Some some font (ttf, otf) are there in in folder but is not shown in ATM delux when i try to install! i mean, some time let's say 12 fonts are there in the folder of same family, but when i go to install it using ATM delux i dont see some font are missing!
have u guys faced this ever? how do u install those missing fonts?

3. What is the difference between ATM delux and the Free ATM light? should i replace ATM delus with the light version...?..as the deluxe version is officially discontinued

do u guys use any other font manager like Extensis Suitcase? how good (or bad) is it compared to ATM?

I wanted to contact adobe for the support , but i found that they have discontinued the support also... :(

I would appreciate any suggestion.

regards,
saiko

You didn't say which computer do you use, PC or Mac? In either case, there are alternatives to ATM - and most of these are better then ATM itself, which i personally always found to be very unstable. I use Extensis Suitcase on my PC, it's not a bad choice, easy to use and it takes a few secs to configure your font sets.. only bug i can think of is that sometimes, instead of its icon in the system tray, it displays a blank space where the icon should be.
However the right - click menu still appears so the problem isn't all that bad. However i don't have the latest version so this problem could have very vell been remedied by now. And i don't get the problem of it not seeing some fonts... as most newer font managers support all font standards, whereas some old ones (such as ATM) had problems recognizing certain font types - some apps don't support unicode, for example, and these apps won't see unicode fonts... not sure if this is the case with ATM though. Anyway, I'm happy with extensis.

I highly recommend MainType, which is a fairly new font manager on the block and beats Extensis Suitcase by at least 25 miles. Has a load of features that I've not seen any font manager (for the PC) have all together. And for $35 it's a steal (...at least this is what I paid for as an xmas special...)
