Take a look over at www.daz3d.com and www.renderosity.com they sell some real nice Poser models, asian style too which looks great and they're cheap. You can then load those into Daz Studio which is free to download if you register at www.daz3d.com

Are you saying Daz can convert Poser models without Poser? I have Poser4 still, and don't mind paying for 5 or 6 (whatever is current), but I haven't used it in a year, so I'm rusty. Having a direct-in to C4D would be useful. Is that what Daz does?

Hi Ernest :)
Daz Studio can import .pz3 files or you can create your own scenes directly in Daz Studio and then export them from it with all textures included + bumpmaps. It exports as .obj then, but once that's done you can quite easily load that .obj model with all it's textures into any other program you have for rendering or if you wanna animate them. And if you use any type of plugin as all those good Poser loading plugins for C4D that exists then you can quite easily load up your .obj file and textures automatically. It all works very fluently, so far i had no problems :)
Daz Studio in itself has no direct connection to your main 3d app, other than it does a real good export of .obj with the textures, that's it's main advantage, and also ofocurse that it's not as slow and sluggish as Poser 6 is. As i wrote above you can use any Poser import plugin for C4D or 3dsmax or Maya or so on.. the advantage of using those plugins to import your .obj from Daz Studio to as a example C4D would be that you don't have to manually reassign all textures to the model(s), it can be a quite tedious job if you got alot of models. The plugins manage that automatically.
So you don't need to update your Poser to 6.0 if you don't wanna, give Daz Studio a twirl, i'm sure you'll like it :D

ThirdEye did a phenomenal model of an asian child's head. I don't know if you need the body too, or if he would be interested in selling in any case. You might drop him a PM.

All good advice posted here. And to add to what Magnus wrote; InterPoser (c4d translator plugin) is compatible with DAZ|Studio as well. If you buy DAZ figures you do not need to have Poser anymore.
Haha, Pu-Yi used for medical experiments, that would be the most interesting illustration/animation I have ever seen.
A real question here to ask is how much recognizable racial deatil do you want? A base grayscale model of an asian, and a caucasian or african descent child will not show a large amount of difference. Obviously skin coloration, dress etc. play a large role in determining racial identifications. But for scientific, and political, reasons, you can't really put someone in tribal dress or exaggerate features while doing a medical illustration.

Here's a good asian one for Poser/Daz Studio

..and if you need a good looking skin, here's one that'll bring the above one to life.
