Hi all,
This is just a dream. How do you like it?:)

I like your dream. It's the waking up-part that I hate, finding out it was just a dream.

But no worries: my guess is that a node-based shader interface is one of the most frequently asked things for C4D. And as XPresso offers already part of the solution ...

Cheers,

Hi Hiroshi,

this looks great and very promising!
Tell us more, please!!!

You know I'm very unhappy with layer function from SLA.
I need a shader tree like "Dark Tree" urgently.

Do you need a tester?
:)))

lloks ok, but where's the mapping? (each form of noise/texture/basechannel needs individual mapping control nodes outputting uv co-ords, then you can do some nice projectsion systems... imagine just putting a math/invert/rangemapper node to invert the u u-ordinate to get mirrored effects, or using another objects axis/global matrix to control the projection of a material on another object). then can the fusion handle more than 1 input? should be renamed to something that makes sense too, layer node would be better, plus the material itself should be able to output. sometimes you want to layer materials on top of each other to get the effects of say a warm BLINN, blended with a nice Phong material (for it's highlights perhaps)...

hehe i'm demanding about my node based material systems. maybe one day we will see something, but i'm not holding my breath.

I expect will see a node-based texture system by R9 if not sooner.

Well, it seems that everyone would like a node-based material system ASAP and thinks the dream comes true sooner or later.
This is not a serious talk (sorry AndyB), but...

Absolutely! And the Object manager already has the info on mapping as texture tags, so IMHO, a folded texture tag, which can include lots of layered texture tags, may be needed. By double-clicking a folded texture tag, we could see a node-based texture editor (probably called "Texpresso":D), or something like that. In the editor, we could use also mapping nodes and special effects such as layer blending, map conversion, mirroring, axis matrix...

p.s. AdamT, a new avatar is cool! Did he have his head shaved?

Any chance of some forum participation again.

(eg nurbs/booleans thread....and putting request into maxon)

I would appreciate it if people added the request from maxons website....."shader tree"

again i'm beginning to feel that this is the way we will get what we want in v9.....remember the most requested features get developed....don't just really on others to post requests...or thing they posted suggestions)
thanks

Ok, again I've just done that. A long suggestion...:)

Best wishes,

H. Ikeda: cheers....Oooh and nice touch on dream...thanks for trying to make it a reality

I did that.....submit suggestion "shader tree"

nice touch....users with a voice....now anybody else like to add the request.

mdme_sadie : come on now I know you know what youre talking about....i would really appreciate it if you could compile some of your texturing suggestions from previous discussions about shader trees and their implementation in c4d/sla....thanks bud....then fill that form in on maxons site....your input is needed.

cheers

Mdme Sadie:

If we're not demanding, the Maxon guys might get lazy :shame:
