View Full Version : Cinema 4d Inquiry
Aphex 12-27-2002, 11:07 AM I was pondering, how I might, save a file in cinema 4d that can be opened in photoshop, all of c4d's valid file extensions do not match any of ps's, do you have to convert the image, is there a particular way to do it if so how, if someone could help it would be appreciated.

photoshop should be able to open almost any file that is rendered by c4d. you can even have your picture(s) save as a psd-file. just choose your desired file-format in the render-settings under save file -> format
or are you trying to open a scene in photoshop? this will not work

Aphex, I'm not 100% sure you totally understand the whole concept of this
You are suppose to render the scene out as an image file (BMP, TIFF etc), then open it up from Photoshop if you need to.

Ok, I clicked Render>Render Settings, clicked the save image option, chose the path for the image, chose the pic format, and clicked ok, and the file is not saving for some reason, a little more help fellows.

Render to the picture viewer, you can then choose "save picutre as..." in the file menu at the top.

There's even more: you can save directly to PSD-file format. And output different layers at once (although this might be reserved for the Advanced Render module), which can then be tweaked in PS.

just a quick note after you set your setting you never said you rendered the image...you just end with pressing ok you should be able to save the image once you set those setting by rendering to pic view without doing the save as step afterward
