a fairly big scene to me , about 900000 faces,a mountain,
some grass(parray),some stones(scatter),max renderer rendered it in about 4 minutes, smoothly. But after it was rendered ,i cant
move my mouse for max will throw out a message box warning
that "An error has occured..."and i ve to say yes to it and max
shut down.I have tried waiting for a longer time before i move
my mouse again, but it never takes effect.Anyone encountered
with this situation and how you deal with it?
thanks a lot!

It seems to eat your ram completly and then leave you with none untill it can be cleaned out...

Max scanline renderer is very weak.
Try to use other renderers or
check that "conserve memory button in the renderer rollout.
