View Full Version : "illustration" - Acteon the devilish-
art7sayan 12-26-2002, 11:51 PM Ok, so here is the final color version of Acteon! Go to my "character design" thread for more information on him ;)
Done with Photoshop and my lil' mouse (yeah because of a problem of installation with my tablet on my new computer...anyways I will get my tablet ready tomorrow...I wish)
Usin' gradients and the lasso tool only...and some lil' FX.

Hehe, just like me! But putin' color on a drawin' is putin' life on it...so it's as cool as a sketch! But it's right to say that sometimes sketches looks a lot more dynamic than the finished work...and that's why we loooooove sketches!
Anyways, don't worry Alevice, I'll try to put more sketches and concept art on the other thread ;)
c ya!

Top secret dude!
No, lol, just wait a lil' and I will talk more about it in the other thread too... just two boys (for the beginnin'), two divine medaillons and this evilguy who will appear only at the end of the story...(it's the main bad guy but not the firstone of the story)...some kind of Heroic-Fantasy...
I can't talk more for now... :D
cheers

The plane he is standing upon looks even, but the feet appear to each be grounded to a separate plane.
Do you understand what I mean?
I have missed things like this before too :)
Great rendering though. I enjoy your style. It is not overdone, but it is refreshing...

to Bentllama: Yeah I know what you mean...but in fact, his feet aren't on the same plane, just look on the two parts of the rock under each foot, they're moovin' and the right one (under his left foot) his upper than the other ;) (but in fact, yeah it was a mistake that I made in the sketch...lol :D ) :p
Thx dude!
to Ken²: what's up dude? It's good to see you back here too...what about a coop project with our two styles later? Cheers!
to Titan:   ...well...I will try to do my best each time that I will post now to not desappoint you :D
to monotypic: hehe...that's right, his not as evil as we can think...good analysis!

So I guess The motion of clothes hair and some other moving part arn't very exactt... And the tail... MAAAN IT's GONNA BURN!!!! woops sorry got little emotional there.
Great work in overall!!!!! Keep it up :wip:

>Solesurvivor: Eheh, Akira Toryama...he's a fantastic guy...I was a big fan (as a lot of guys of my generation I guess) of his work...so you can find a lil' bit of his influence in mine too...( btw, my first comic strip was a big copy of the DBZ style!! ^^ , I was 11years old ... ... )

Well, art7sayan, for being a dbz, i think your name says it all (sayan, or 'saiyan', there is not a proper american spelling for any of the names, is the rcae of many of the main characters). I was a bettah fan of original DB, specially Piccolo. Man, he was the true evil in its momment. The designers (tori was not alon making DB, he had his whole Bird Studio) ruined him for DBZ, making him a good guy with this pedofile attraction to Gohan. BTW, DBGT sucked balls (dragon balls? =P)

art7 this looks great! I really like how you colored using the lasso tool, it really helps give it that sharp defined look. I've always been a fan of your style, thats so funny that you used to do comics when you were younger and they were dbz rip offs. I did the same thing in...i think 7th grade, so i was about 12 or so. I'd love to see it some time :) I'd have to dig mine up from a box.
The blood coming out of the spike on the...right shoulder looks off. Its flowing to the side, but it should be flowing down. now of course maybe when it started bleeding he was lying on his right side...then that would explain it! But if not, its a little funky. Keep it up man!

Hi good illustration
also good ur reflection on the idea that a skecth is more dynamic
than a complete work
I think is right
as a skyscraper is more fine in cotruction than ended

Btw art7supersayan, could u make a dbz character in that style??? That would be my new background :D (this 1 is now also)

Ya, I noticed the same issues revolving around the blood from the spike. (talk about anal I know). But I mean what else can I critique!? I personally think maybe instead of putting streams of blood you should have it more of a bled in look...I mean it IS cloth right? so would the blood stream onto the cloth? Or seep into the cloth. Just something to think about...unless the blood shot out then landed precisely on the shoulder like that and dried before it could seep in. Ok enough of being a smart ass.
Great pic...I'm envious and hope to post a colored drawing that caliber.

You are way to good for your age Andry LOL
Good to see you are experimenting with colouring your work, it brings back the motion and vividness from your sketches that get lost in the inking

Hehe! Thank you Jeroentje! ;) :p
I agree with you for the inkin' , that's why I try different way for the color...I've tried some cell-shadin' too before (you rember?)...and now this comics/western style with the lasso and gradients...maybe I will try a mix of the two method...we'll see! :D
C ya dude!
wow, nice one, you kickass man  :applause:
