View Full Version : And again another female character
Conni 12-26-2002, 09:39 PM Hi all,
at the moment I'm creating a character for my demo reel. Before I start texturing and rigging, I would like to have some feedback from others about the modelling. I'm especially interested in suggestions which areas of the character should be improved and refined. The head is still detached from body because of performance reasons. The eyeballs are only temporary, they are not finished yet.
I use 3DS MAX 4.2 for modelling.
I'm waiting for your comments! TIA

Nice detail on the stomach. Side view looks a bit strange though. Perhaps the abs stick out just a bit too far? The angle between the buttocks and back looks to be a bit sharp.
Also I think the face could be wider, but perhaps she just has a narrow face.
All in all, nice work.

Thanks for your replies so far.
I smoothed the ankle between the back and the buttocks a bit and I made her abs not sticking out so far. The nose and the face is currently in progress. Updates are coming soon. Keep commenting, please!

There are some serious anatomical issues with this model... Proportions and forms of the body aren't correct. I suggest you to use some good references - sometimes our eyes can fail us.
I've retouched your image a bit to give you an idea of how it should look like. Mind you, it's not perfect, but it might help a bit...

THX again, I used the retouched image and a some reference pictures to alter the proportions a bit. I hope the form and proportions are better now.
However, I would have expected more feedback or is the model already ready for texturing and animation without further improvements ;) ?

And here is a new face-closeup. I partially rebuild the nose. The nose looks better now, at least that's my humble opinion. Furthermore, I tried to make the face look wider.
Any more ideas which areas I have to improve?

I think the back of her head is to flat.
Looks a bit eggy in 3/4.
