Crits here :P
The noise on the wall and curtains is to "big", so is the wood texture. The Pillows and sheet are to smooth and slick...
The beds' edges is to hard, real-life objects rarely ever have hard edges.
Keep it up though, you'll nail it eventually
I have to disagree, there are many beds that have sharper edges such as this. If you look closely you can see a bevel to it anyway so I think its fine. However the texture choice could be better, maybe 1 color with high specularity to give the wallpaper more of a satin look.

Just a quick update. I have made the edges of the bed (which I'll probably change completely when I have time) more beveled, changed the quilt texture, added a radiator and changed the wall texture a little. More c&c please.

Lookin' good so far.
The first thing that jumps out at me is that the floor looks "REALLY" polished. If that's the look you're going for, great, but I would expect to see it be a bit duller.
Ive gotta ask, cause I love that carpet rug... how did you make it, Its really cool looking :)
Oh and for crits the bed frame looks a touch too tall and maybe not wide enough. Also I feel that there should be more of the blanket hanging off the bed. Also the curtian needs a bar tp go across the window so you could shut it :). Thats about it, besides the floor texture looking alot nicer in the second pic; looks like the same texture exept the heater adds alot to the reflection.

Just some helpful critz. The blanket either looks to thick (could be angle of camera) or it has irregular folds in it. Also it would be a good idea to have to hang off the side of the bed. The pillows look smooth and like plastic. I don't know what you are going to do with this scene but you should add some more detail to things. Like the window, I have never seen a window cut up into sections like that. Usally there are to bars horizontally so its cut up into 6 sections. Also a lock on the window or something of that sort. The window pane, itself, looks to foggy, and if you want it that way then you have to tune down the light, because a window that foggy won't cast a shadow and let that much light in the room, as you have now. Also, I will say it again I don't know what your doing with this scene, I would think it would be cool if you add a fire escape outside the window. Well that is just a thought and these are just helpful crits. I do like the rug and wonder how you made it.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind knowing how you made the rug too, it looks very good.
The only crit I have, is the bed clothes look a bit too thick, plus they look as if they're plastic, perhaps you could turn off the specular or make it very low.

Hi snowman,
The window is indeed not correct, but apart from the things you mentioned, there's also the problem of the window frame: you will always see a frame (unless it's a high-tech situation), while in this picture, the wooden profiles "dissapear" directly into the wall.
TheLegend299,
In attachment a small example - no photorealism (no radiosity), only an indication of how you could build the window geometry.
And by the way: I would also like to know how you made the rug - it looks great
Cheers,

One last thing: the bed frame could benefit from another mapping direction: the horizontal part should have the texture applied in the horizontal direction, not vertical (unless your not trying to build real wooden parts).

Thanks for the replies guys.
Brammelo - good point about the window I was hoping no one would notice until I's finished it;) , nice to see your looking though.
Phasmatis - The bed clothes don't have any specular, but there is a light near them that might be over exposing the pic a little.
TheSnowMan - The blanket is indeed to think but the otherside is to thin, I wanted to create the affect that someone could'nt be bothered to tidy the bed but that can't be seen from the pic, so I'll change it. I think the windows look foggy because the sky has grey clouds in (was going to be darker at first) and I love the idea of the fire escape I'll do that when the rest of the room is finished :buttrock:.
ndat - thanks and the bed is the same sort of height as my own, again this may change.
The rug is just a cube subdivided twice with some hair curtosy of hair dept. if you want I could give you the exact parameters. I'll update in a bit :D
