Played a little around with 3dsmax and found this new method for clusters... a little speciel, but maybe you can use it someday....
1. Load a scene with a head model or some mesh.
2. Go create some Dummy's (Create > Helpers > Dummy, it can be a help to turn on AutoGrid button just over the Dummy button)
3. Now place Dummys on your object.
4. After this go create a "FFD(box) Spacewarp" around your mesh. (Create > Spacewarp > Geometric/Deformable.)
5. Select the ffd(box) spacewarp, and in the Modify panal, in ffd parameters. Click the Set number of points, set it to 15x15x15 or whatever fit your neds...
6. Now put a Skin modifyer on top of the "ffd(box) spacewarp", add all the Dymmys as your bones.
7. setup the skin settings for each bone.
8. Exit the Skin modifyer.
9. Now you can link the FDD(box)spacewarp (use the "Bind to Spacewarp" button on the toolbar.) link īthe spacewarp to whatever you like to... unlimited number of objects
And:
- does also works for particels.
- You can also use bones and IK instead of all the Dymmys...
[Edit - Particel note: you have to creat a Mesher object and let it convert the particels into a mesh. then link the mesh to the spacewarp]
Hope this is a usefull trick.
C & C is welcome :applause:
Happy new year.
