View Full Version : realistic waterlike metaball animation?
satchking 03-31-2006, 11:52 PM I would really like to know how to make real water like pouring in a glass from metaballs but i only get hard balls that only blob together, not to their surroundings. Any help would be most helpful

The best I can provide you with is this link:
http://www.tutorialoutpost.com/count/2199
it is for 3ds but most of it can be applied to cinema as well. There are also some tuts for LW using metaballs but I can't find the link right now.
In the April issue of the 3D Attack magazine is a tut of a water fountain that uses simple geometry and proc noise to deform the water as it falls. Not necessarily photo realistic but still very good for near realtime effects.
Also have a look at the TP tut's at c4dcafe
