Hallo all... just wondering how some of you go about texturing curved surfaces with real world materials such as pre-sized stone tiles... maybe some pattern to that stone layout and other such materials?

I Guess unwraping is one way to go but i could use some pointers from ones who did this kind of mapping beore.

(in this case the curve is on one axis only - a vertical wall the curves in the plan view only, with holes for the windows in some places along the wall)

Thanks.

I usually try to do this at the modelling stage. I.e., Lofting in 3ds Max produces form-following UVs.

NURBS are another route, can be found in most packages.

Yet another route is the Texture Layers (http://www.mankua.com/texlay.htm) plugin (only available for 3ds Max).
