Hi guys and gals,

Here's something I'm working on now. It's a painting of my 2 weeks old daughter (born 3.18.06) and my wife. This is direct sketch of the original photograph.

I'm thinking of changing the background/scene from a hospital bed to something out in forest, meadow, etc. I'm thinking of covering them with flowers instead of the blanket.

I have still much to learn as far as digital painting, but I'm learning... :(

Here's where I am now. (I really need some help painting baby hair...)

I can't help you paint (because I suck at it) but I wanted to encourage you and say you did a great job! I love the idea of a forest in the background and being covered in flowers. I can't wait to see this complete. Congratulations on your daughter!

It looks nice so far. Maybe instead of the white blanket and pillows you can color them with different pattersn/textures to give a more warm feel to the image, and perhaps a nice background like you talked about.

Was your baby really born with all that hair? That looks like a LOT for an infant.

Thanks for the comments JTD - I'm trying different ideas right now, but yeah the outdoor scene might look good.

Yup, she had a very thick hair - although, probably not suppose to be as thick, that's one of my dilema, I still don't know how to paint baby hair (or hair in particular for that matter).
