I got a gateway pc amd athlon 64 X2 and it has an Nvidia 6100 card , wel it has another available slot the machine says it has a 6100 pci express slot available. Now I am a mac user that bought his first pc ever and my question is does that mean i have to get a 6100 graphics card or is a higher card compatible i was thinking of the nvidia 680o cus i want another graphics card to have a dual monitor setup.

Thanks,
Robert

The 6100 is an integrated or on-board craphics solution built into your motherboard. Check to be sure, but your motherboard almost certainly also features a pci express slot which you can use to upgrade to any current graphics card. Doing so would give you a boost in viewport display speed & qaulity. Good for animation & modelling & also improve your games performance a lot if that matters to you.
Good pci-express cards to look at would be 6800gs, 7600gt.
