Infernal Girl - my personal project(maybe for a demo reel). I plan to do this girl with beauty head and a creepy body, some parts.
Here is first stage of model, without hair so far.
C&C are welcome.

This looks great. My only vice is the head looks a little wide compared to the body. Love that shader by the way. I think this will be a nice portfolio addition.

:) Hello,

Yah, wireframe shots would be good, totally..and grab a side shot also.

My comments so far is the top portion of the skull shape, to me it seems more squared out than rounded, (unless thats the look your aiming for hehe)...

you may try to round it out more and lower the head tip height a little bit.

other than that, well done modelling and all:thumbsup:

Hey Alexey,

Fantastic so far...I am definitely loving the contours in her face. Now I have a question actually....do you recommend creating specular map for the eyeball iris? I am trying to get that effect when people with certain eye colour, look into the light, the colour looks brighter...

And give us more...

Hi Alexey, I'm loving this work so far. I think she's beautifull and you're really skilled in getting her to this stage. The eyes really looks fantastic - like she's looking through them. The body (for once a female with nicely propotioned brests) is realistic and whell modeled.

What do you mean by 'creepy body'? Please don't spoil one of the more realistically modeled humans in a while.

Great Job!

Great model. I love her face but in my opinion neck is too short.

Leshiy3d
03-30-2006, 02:26 PM
whoa, thanks for crits!

HaloAnimator - I would not recommend to do any speculars on a cornea, unless only on the bottom part of iris.

Giom - Don't worry mate, everything will be ok. ;)

I mean I like, I model the eyes as two separate obejcts :). I wanted the effect where when people look in sunlight, their irises seem brighter...

And thanks for the wireframes...

She's adorable. I love her face, it's perfect. She kind of reminds me of Christina Ricci.
I agree with a previous suggestion about her neck, it does seem a bit short. I think that her neck maybe too thick as well. Looking forward to seeing more. Great work:buttrock:

Update with a little wings/textures. Still without any hair

I dislike the head texture and brow a bit. Maybe add some freckles on the face?
Also I'm going to add more details on the body texture.
What do you think about it? :banghead:

I think it's great what you've done already! I do agree - however - with the brows. I think they should be a fraction higher and a litle rounder - ie. more of an arch shape.

The textures looks great to me. But more detail never hurts.

You're doing really well here buddy!

Try putting a bit more freckles on her... somewhere in the area that i marked..... allthough just an suggestion... she looks extremely nice...

great work so far Leshiy!

Concerning the face texturing i'd suggest putting a little more red on the cheeks and the nose and less green (especially on the cheeks)

Waiting for more :)

good work so far, dude :p

I think it is necessary to make eyebrowes more expressively.
And the nose still wide. May be you can hardly narrow make it?

good anatomy and texturing!i think that the wings could be bigger.

Leshiy3d
04-17-2006, 01:01 PM
I've fixed some features. Has completed texture of the body and wings, except some details. As always work with hair was very difficult and mad. :banghead:
Next step - rigging and posing.

harharchris The eyebrow and lashes are polygonal geometry.

Peddy

looking good so far, but im a little dubious about the wings. im thinking they are too close to the middle of the torso. id imagine if i had wings (ignoring the fact that they would have to be about 20times longer than the ones your girl has, with muscles bigger than thighs needed for any kind of air time) they would be attached a bit further out and down a bit, so closer to the bottom of the shoulderblades.

right now, try and touch your elbows behind your back. now imagine wing muscles where your character has them. it would get very cluttered with muscles, very quick, restricting the range of shoulder/shoulderblade and back muscle movements that would be assumedly necessary to fly.

other than that, nice work on the SSS, and im looking forward to this 'creepy' element you plan to introduce.

Very, very, good. I particularly likethe texturing on the lips, did you hand paint, photo or a mixture of both? Either way the subtle effect works.

Cheers

Good texture, I really like it , how did you do it, and another question, if you are using 3ds max is it possible to use meltal ray SSS skin shader and render hair?

Leshiy3d
04-29-2006, 06:22 PM
Minor update - creature for a environment, not finished yet. I've no idea about the background so far...

http://leshiy3d.com/wip/i_girl/i_girl_14.jpg

http://leshiy3d.com/wip/i_girl/i_girl_15.jpg

Peddy - Thanks for the advice, but I planned to make a kinda stylized wings which have no special functional meaning. Though, I'll try to change something.

JayEdwards - For the textures I used a lot of photos, then combined it. Of course, hand painted work has been used too.

hoodedpython- I prefer to work in XSI, but it's all absolutely possible in 3dsmax too. Fast SSS, Hair/Fur and other built-in plugins :)

Are you using ZBrush for textures?

the face of your lady is very very specially. i simply love it. you did the texturing almost in the way that i am going to do it for my actress. puts some more freckles over the nose( as already mentioned ) and you are going to have a real beauty then.
may the eye les redish...hmm may be she was smoking some grass or hanging around at the bars at nightime ?
keep it up..

Hah, scared me a lil when I saw that monster all of a sudden instead of the chick :)

Excelent job so far. The texturing and modeling is top notch. I'd sugguest maybe building her muscles slightly more defined... but not super woman or manly. I can't wait to see more. Have a sketch of the full scene at all? I'd like to see ^_^

Keep it up, I'm gonna keep my eye on this.

Unfortunately I don't have time for this project so far.

>keetmun Could u share with us how u made your textures? Using photos or are all hand-painted?
Yes, I used a lot of photo textures for this head, except the bump map. Then I combine it in Photoshop. Also, I use BodyPaint for correction of textural seams.

Hi, Leshiy3d, very great character, especially the skin render, keep it up, want to see this be done in XSI!
The skin render with sss, and have some other light or FG setup for the skin, I'd like to create the effort like yours, can show some tips? thanks in advanced!

Lighting's absolutely superb at the moment mate... As for the pose I don't know why but she just looks a little unbalanced right now... I would move her right leg out a bit more to balance out her stance, just to get a bit more spread on her legs yeah.

really love it now! but her nails look a bit evil/claw like... too bad you removed her wings... but about the off balance post. Try lifting HER right foot up a bit, like if she is standing on something, then the pose should look right..

I give the pose a 7, the overall model an 8, and the lighting a 7. All results are calculated on a 5 point scale :)

Great work mate. Beautiful character, great anatomy great facial features and great modeling all around.

Just one complaint, I dont know if her hair is long enough or strong enough to maintain it's current position. It should fall to the front over her shoulders, it just doesn't seem like it could hold up in that position.

Hope that helps, hope to see more :)

The sternocleidomastoids end too far from each other. The clavicle looks a bit too pronounced. The skin looks a bit too blurry and it lacks specularity. The eyes look a bit dull. Hair needs more variation, too uniform imo. Very nice apart from that.

Nice model, nice shaders, The eyes are creepy real. She looks a little boyish in the face, (my humble opinion) I would just make her cheeks a little more chubby and decrease the width of her nasal bone (just between the eyes) a bit. I know you aren't done with the textures, but I would make the skin a little pinker in hue.

Leshiy3d, am I glad you lost the wings, this is what I had in mind when you started this thread - remember?

- Great job on the hair - it looks natural and very feminin.
- Her face is unusual but beautifull. The sort of beauty that needs to grow on you and then becoming more and more beautifull.
- Good job on the clothes, I like the style - it suits the character.
- The pose is a little too pronounced (personal taste), it makes her look like a teen with way to much attitude. (I'm thinking dark angel - she had more style and sophistication)

I'm really impressed with your work and that you completed this project.

Dude you're very good. Nice clean work. Love your modeling on the face and hands! very nice capturing of the gesture...many times cg hands come out stiff. Good luck on continuing the piece! I've found myself stopping in my tracks because I haven't had a clear concept on a piece I was just modeling as I go...it's never as good as a thought before composition. But it's good to see you are flexible and not over-connected to your work (meaning not afraid to make big changes for the betterment of the piece).
Great!
