hello guys!

i have a big problem ...
first i have 3 layers (2 grass layers and 1 hill), normal tif images ordered with z depht from background to foreground using 3d workspace in combustion!
next i have a rpf image with zdepth inside (g-buffer) added to this workspace (the car)!

my problem is that the zdepth not really matches the original 3d depth from the 3dsmax/rpf rendering in combustion! the car is always in front, when using 3d depth in the layer options!

any suggestions?

the other problem i have is, can i move images in 3d z order without scaling?

many thx!

You could discard the Z-depth on the car layer. It's sucha "thin" plate, I don't see it doing a heck of a lot of good anyways.

The second option, if you actually do need the z-depth on the car, is to adjust it using the z-depth controls or a color corrector, so that its built in z-depth plays nice with the layers.

I would try to adjust the zdepth offset of the rpf layer. Also have a look in Max which values were set for near and far Z in the render settings. With that values it is often easier to place the other layers within that 3d space in combustion. Hope that helps.

the near Z value from the car is -44 and far Z -119 ... whatever value i set in the Z depth offset in combustion, the car is in front of all :(
any sollutions ? is this a bug in combustion or may i set the Z depth in 3dsmax from a positive to a negative value ?

the problem is: at the start of the animation, the car is in back of the hill and then the cars drives around the hill, so its in front after the half animation

ok, its working now! the problem was that when you show the g-buffer with combustion its only showing the z from the current frame! when you have a animation combustion not refresh the z values from the g-buffer :(

the next problem is, can i change images in there z position without scaling it ... so that the layer is always in aspect to the camera ?
f.ex. when i change the z to a lower value the current layer getting bigger to the camera :(
