View Full Version : Lightwave -> Ut2003 (Guns and Characters, not Static Meshes)
TheBeast 12-24-2002, 06:38 PM Anyone been successful with getting a weapon model or character (with animation) into UT2k3 from lightwave using this plugin?
I managed to get the model in fine, but as soon as I bone and animate the model, it completely screws up on import :(
If anyone knows anything about this or has any advice it would be much appreciated :)

what plugin are you talking about? Digital Extremes haven't released anything yet, but they "are" working on an exporter for Lightwave... should be here pretty soon, just hope its nothing like the Maya stuff which didn't even work.
Honestly if you want to do this get things into 3dsmax and work it out from there, thats what I do.

yeah, I use max and the actor x plugin works like a charm, so far I've only imported a physique skinned model, no animations.
this is why you should learn the basics of all the programs (atleast I think so), so that you could export the model from Lw, and animate it in Max or Maya...if they now support exportation to ut2k3...

Longman: Yeah, I've seen that tutorial, unfortunately its only for static meshes and not for skeletal animations and models :(
Hopefully the official digital extremes plugin should come soon tho :)
