View Full Version : Sky Module Error, help.
Rantin Al 03-28-2006, 05:21 PM When I try to access the Sky manager, either through the plugin menu or by double clicking on the Sky Object icon I get an 'Error reading resource file" Alert.
Path is: [C4D: modules: sky: res: description: oskyshader.res Line 129]
(Line 129 Reads)
REAL SKY_POS_LONGITUDE { UNIT DEGREE; ; ANIM MIX; LONGITUDE; MIN -180; MAX 180; CUSTOMGUI TP_JOGSLIDERGUI; }
Could someone with Mac, v952 (and Xtacy2 scheme) check this line or tell me what the problem is. It is too late for Maxon Support this evening, but I will contact them in the morning if no-one has a solution.
The basic Sky manager eventually opens after OK'ing the error alert, but there is no option for displaying the advanced settings.
(I've only recently upgraded to v9 and have not had a chance to check everything out yet)
Thanks for any help, Al.

Maybe you can try resetting the Xtacey to Cinema original in Preferences. Restart Cinema and if it is ok go back to Xtacey GUI.

Works fine for me Alan, whether I use XStacy2 or the standard C4d (Blueberry) scheme.

Thanks guys. Unpatching Xtacy back to good ol' plain Aqua has fixed it.
I'll try later to see if I can re-patch the Xtacy back in. Aqua is nice but it is heck of a bright and a strain on the eyes.
Thanks again, Alan.
Repatched and all is working/ looking fine. :bounce:

Glad you got it working Alan.
I still can't find a scheme I'm happy with. I agree that Aqua is too bright but I find that Xstacy is too dim for me. My little 12" screen might play a part in all this too however:D.
Take care.
you probably patched it prior to upgrading or something, not entirely sure though. Glad tis working for you now.

Make sure you're using the latest XStacy::Elements (downloadable from www.thirdpartyplugins.com ).

Hi all.
Per, I am using the XStacy2 version with StormTracer.
As I said above, all is fine now and everything appears to be functioning properly.
A possibility for the glitch is that I installed the C4D 9 UB updater and it may have confused the issue a bit. (I have a Quad 2.7 but was told that there was a speed bonus using the UB)
I did re-apply XStacy after updating but I think the trick is to unpatch first and then re-patch.
Up till now, only the Sky module had shown any problem.
Thanks again for the help, Alan.

The version with Storm Tracer is old now, the latest version is the one availabale for download from the Third Party website.

Alan.
When did they start making a Quad 2.7? Is my Quad 2.5 no longer the monster on the block ;)
BTW - I have really wanted to get Storm Tracer. I am guessing based on what you have posted that it works ok it 9.5?

"I have a Quad 2.7"
Congratulations again, GruvD. I just put that in as a test to see if everyone was paying attention. ;) Where do I send the virtual coconut?
Yes, I have v.952 and StormTracer rattles along fine but I'm still trying to find the time to play with all the twiddly bits.
Cheers, Al.
