Just a starting point.I'm thinking of working on a more simple symbolic approach than on an image that tells a certain story, the story is not my main focus right now..I dunno I'm still working on it :)

this is just a coloured sketch in the same direction of the main idea..I'm just trying to see what the characters look like and as I said the last sketch was a starting point.

First of all..LOVE the nickname :) and the paperclip IS actually a better solution than staples! Anyways..The sketch you're wondering about is a part of another sketch that I didn't the chance of uploading yet. But it's about a rabbit that just got out of his rabbit-hole and about to start a journey towards the carrot that u see in the current sketch, and the road to that carrot is filled with wolves..The carrot symbolizes the purpose in life in general.. you know what? I'll post it to ya right now :)

This is a slightly different direction but it revolves around the same concept. The rabbit just got out of his rabbit-hole and into a place that is filled with wolves, and he wants to get to the carrot at the end of the road(which I guess symbolizes spiritual enlightment..or maybe his purpose in life in general)The question here is will he be able to reach the carrot without losing his innocence? Or will he do whatever it is in his power so that he can survive and reach peace and enlightment in the end? well anyway I still haven't worked on that one quite yet and that's because I'm a bit confused right now.So I'm open for suggestion,OKAY? :)

And to show everybody how confused I am THIS IS THE OTHER APROACHE I WAS THINKING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! guys I'm so confused and soOOo open for suggestions. Now this one shows a futuristic reality in a city of a technological/industrial nature, and the man in the middle is at the city gates about to leave wearing nothing but simple primitive clothes with his things packed in a sac held by one hand and a sword held by the other. At the gates there are two guards observing him in a mixture of both pitty and envy!! Pitty because they may be thinking of what he's been through to take a desicion like that, and envy because maybe deep down inside this is what they've always wished they had the courage to do..leave the CITY with all it's evil and conflicts...I need suggestions and I need them fast, people! what direction should I take???????? <:.

I love the sketch of the cloaked guy, especially the robots in the BG. They look very 50's, thouhg I dont know if they work together. The guy kind of reminds of raiden from the Mortal Kombat games. Maybe some kind of a different costume?

i think your newest idea has merit. but, with your awesome drawing style, i think the bunny contemplating his quest for the carrot could be even better. i also like the oblivious bird, although if you don't give him some sort of escape route it's a bit brutal.
ok. back to the last concept...
i didn't get that he was leaving at all. part of that is that i couldn't tell he was holding a bag. i just saw the 'look' on his face and the sword and assumed he was coming into the roo i was in to kill me. maybe if you had something more like a city gate and maybe some rough dusty planet ground that implies it's really hostile. and you may be going a bit Tex Avery with the size of those dude's hands. it kind of breaks the somber mood. but suit design is a whole other thing which i'm sure you can handle.
great stuff, dude!
again, i LUV your drawing style.

Thank you very much for your helpfull observation.About the dudes in the techno-suits..I think it's the main idea that they don't work with the cloacked dude! The guy is leaving the city,he gave up on it or maybe he's angry with it's system and "way of life" ..I wanna make it look as though he used to look like them but chose not to..y'know? And about the dude himself I don't see the resemblence between him and Rayden very much! I mean Rayden used to wear that chineese hat thing and he wore pants n' stuff !! Besides if it makes you feel any better the dude's clothes are gonna be mostly dusty brown..so I guess when he's coloured he won't look that much like Rayden. :) Anyway thank you sooOOOo much for your comments and I'll keep them in mind I swear :) And ViSIT MORE DUUUUUDE

u've got the right karim to b confused cause both of the 2 ideas r perfect ,i got confused too:D
but when i first saw the second sketch i felt that the man is leaving and he is gonna start a journey which suits the concept , and i like its idea cause im really feeling like this man and i wish to do the same thing , but what i like in the sketch of the rabbit is that he has got a target especially u r drawing it as a high one , and i like the drawing style too .
really karim both of them r very good and i feel some kind of PHILOSOPHY in them .
and about ur drawing i think u know my opinion ..............good luck:thumbsup:

PS - wouldn't sweat the raiden thing. he's a tough guy in a robe. i can name several people he could remind someone of. he still fits the part. as long as you set a good contrast between him and the gaurds and inside the city and out, people can draw there own conclusions about who he might be. and where he may be going.

i think if you like them both that much, keep thinking about both of them. it's probably a good way to keep yourself limber and not get stuck on anything in one piece. as far as a vote, i think i already voted for the bunny one. i think he is better than the birdy, cause he has a good fighting chance. the bird's toast.
ok, latest sketch...
i think my favorite 2 things in the old bunny sketch were the bunny's ears (he is currently gasping in surprise and dismay and it's just damn funny) and the other was the one wolf having a bunny in his mouth. it's so crule that in the context it's also really funny. also, like mason suggested, the landscape should be interesting. give the bunny about 25 routes he could choose from and maybe one of them he'll survive. mwaa ha ha ha ha ha.
basically i'd go back to the old bunny sketch and develope from there. if you get stuck, work on the dude for a bit. i know how you feel, you HAVE to get going so you can finish something good. but the foundation is key.
hope it helps,
~B

 Yo DUDE!!
Great work up there till now man.. To be honest, i am in a conflict between the two ideas.. the amn-in-a-cloak maybe give you more to look at, but less to think about.. less to hope for i guess.. i mean, the guy is leaving a city, so it is 1 man VS 1 city, not to mention vs the two guards guarding the gate of the city and that's enough... sounds like a lost cause..
on the other hand, the bunny and the Wolves.. there is hope, because the Rabbit has got some abilities.. and he clearly knows what he wants.. hell.. his goal is right infront of his own eyes.. so it takes some fitnes and a couple of nifty dodges to be able to get there..
take into consideration that a wolf KNOWs that its a wolf.. meaning that a wolf knows about the power of claws'n'fangs.. which places them in a category called "arrogance" and "over-confidence".. we are numerous, and we are strong, and this is justa little bunny... do they know any better than that? i think not!.. so that'd be a good starting point..
Cheers.. and great work again.. keep it comming

Good news that u finally took the decision to work on the rabbit one , lately when i saw the last sketch and thought again about its idea i felt that its much more stronger than the one of the man leaving the city cause as i said before the rabbit has got a target and he will fight to reach to it , but the man leaving the city ..... i felt that he is disappointed , just leaving and starting a journey but was he planning to do something?.... which shows the opposite of the rabbit's idea ,plus i like the drawing style of the rabbit sketch more ,so i think from my point of view that u took the right decision

who really wins? the girl or guy who comes in with crazy skills and wips out another in a pong line of great pieces and wins a computer, or the one who comes in really determined to improve there skill and leaves a better artist? hopefully you'll come out the other end with a nice finished piece and a bit higher regard for your own talent. You have a wonderful character in your pen control... and your selection of compositions are very humorous, and great catches.
I think I liked all the versions of having to dodge predators. And I loved your last approach to convert it into a "Goal" like in a game... the sneaking of the Canines, the distortion of the elements for both perspective and the cartoon'ish style.
All very professional looking and suiting.
The only thing I could say that the manner you have chosen such a composition, it is not too inviting to be an image that you shall have demand to have in a large scale, to fill in or detail. But this is again is not really a comment.
I thik you have made a good choice with your latest sketch. I hope for you to go for it.
(My second favourite was of your first sketches ... THIS (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showpost.php?p=3395722&postcount=2) one... It still gets me laughing!)
Well what ever you might say, I think you still have time and it sure looks like a good enough image to go for the big game, as much as it is not your actual intention.
Good luck

That' what I've done with it so far.I'll be squeezing a few hours into my schedule in the next few days to work on it and I think I might be able to finish it on time..
all the best.

I've given it more lightening and I would like to mention that I still haven't touched the carrot..it's supposed to have like an ora around it or something.

Cheers Mate,,
yeah, like Mariam Said, FINALLY an update..
Lookin good, and i second black's words and thank him dearly for them (good to find people who want to help just for the sake of it)..
My comments : (ofcourse other than the ooooohs and the wows and the whistles :-P)
- The Wolves should be less vague, i mean, shouldn't they have some sort of vague lining to their features?
- The lightening that should be around the carrot will look pretty if it is some sort of the center of energy for the whole background (the eternal space around).. which links to the concept that the Carrot represents the essence of life, that one has to seek, and once reached u will see things from where that carrot is seeing things.. different,,
know what i'm sayin?
Cheers lad.. awaiting the next one

lookin nice, buddy!
here'a what i think you still need...
1 depth. (less contrast the farther away a thing is)
2 smiles on a couple more fox-things.
3 bit of spotlight on the carrot maybe? a god ray straight down?
good luck man,
hope you had fun,
