Thanks nextside and svetko for the props!

Hey elnady, thx, yeah I forgot to mention that the water would be replaced in the animation, so it really didn't need to be any more than reference for the lighters.

Wow, this has been like having a child! I've been trying to get this image on the forums for over a week and a half, but there were tech problems. Post, hit refresh all day, it's hard work:P

I personally have a very difficult time with landscapes or backdrops. So, I have much respect for those that can do it so well.

It looks like I could walk into this image. Well, maybe row a boat right in ;)

Great job.

carbonmatter, absolutely stunning mattes. Your site has an awesome amount of impressive work.

On a side note however, I would like to say that the choice of music for your matte reel makes it very hard to watch. This may just be personal taste, but I think that something far more in line with the content of the reel would have worked a lot better. It's quite harsh and grating compared to the beauty and majesty of your shots. I actually had to turn the sound off to enjoy it.

Again, this is just personal taste, so feel free to ignore my rambling and use whatever you like! :D

Beautiful work, and great stuff all over your site.

I agree, though, that the music on your site's reel is totally inappropriate for the images. Perhaps some pumped-up classical (and please, NOT the Carmina Burana!) would lend a lot more class to your gorgeous work. The images are mostly classical in nature, as opposed to sci-fi, so it would seem a better fit.

Hey all!

Many thanks for the kind words, much appreciated!

Erilaz/Artbot - again, thanks for the positive reinforcement - as for the music on the reel, it syncs to events nicely, but it's not something I'm married to - but I'm not really too concerned about that in the long run.

Thanks for the killer painting carbonmatter. Definately creates that exotic Prince of Persia style, like an ancient gaurd station which protects the passage into a much greater city. The mist on the waters edge surely means its sunrise.

I assume your on the Ubisoft PoP team. This may be an outdated questions, but you state its designed for a cinematic, will this be apart of an upcoming Prince of Persia Game I should know about? Or the full feature movie which is planned? Im a major fan of the first 3 titles, excellent games all of them!

Were you also involved with art in the previous productions?

Good job ! I'm very fond of the atmosphere and the lighting. But the fog look a little bit strange at the bottom right corner. Otherwise it is really pretty good.

Thx! I was brought in to Ubisoft as a freelance matte painter on the Two THrones project - and the level of art established on that franchise is awesome!. Sooo many great artists, great art direction, it was a real priviledge to be on the team.
