I am working on the final concept for a vaporizer (for production) and I am quite happy with the results. I experimented with non-specular lights and glowing panels to produce a more realistic glass. This is my best glass yet.

Pretty neat, Prim.
Not sure how it works, but it sorta looks retro, which I like.

Is the hose supposed to be opaque?
The "filament" looks a bit blown-out to me. Maybe add a diffusion map.

Are we gonna see ya on American Inventor? ;)

The hose as you call it is a transparent plastic tube. I am not sure what you mean by 'filament". Can you elaborate?

LOL, this is not my invention. I am re-designing the vaporizer for a company. It is a legal apparel supposed to be sold to people who can legally obtain and use the substances that go into it. They are presently selling a similar vaporizer made of glass but want a model in plastic that can be easily produced with a mold (the base). So my job is to re-design the whole vaporizer. I use C4D for this. I know a CAD app would probably be more precise, but C4D makes the work very enjoyable.

Oh. I see [eek]

A filament is the wire in a light bulb. Your machine reminds of one.

You're right. CAD would be more precise, but c4d for visualization is faster and funner.

How about a little SSS on the tube?

I just made some modifications to the model. The glass has thickness (5 mm thick) and the boiler is more elegant.

Here is a new render, using an area light and Ambient Occlusion. Rendering time went way up.

Looking nice, but you should cancel the AO on the plastic hose with a comp tag.
I had a vaporizer like ten years ago, but it was with american wire and plug, so here in sweden it kinda burned out a bit to fast due to the different electrical standards, will your vaporizer have the ability to convert to non-american electrical standards?

Guys this is not a suitable topic for CGTalk. Please keep it to the subject of the model and render or we will have to close the thread.

CGTalk is not a drugs paraphernalia sales boutique. Legal or not in certain countries as a multinational forum this isn't the place to discuss the purchase or ownership of such items, it is a CG forum, therefore keep it on topic.

? I think you meant Primitivs comment. I donīt see anything unrelated to the model in his statement.

He simply described why and what the item is used for. I donīt see any illegal intention here nor an off topic discussion. Or is it now disallowed to talk about the modelled item if it doesnīt include a 3d specific term? Sorry, but I still donīt see the reason behind your post. Am I the only one? Or am I missing something? or is it the language that I donīt see the point of Per?

As far as I could tell everybody was talking about the quality of the render.
I didn't see any links a pay-pal account or a retail site... I think you're overstepping your jurisdiction as a moderator.

BTW: I still find the hose to be a little unbelievable. I don't think clear acrylic tubes ever get that dark.

Well, maybe Per is meaning my message?
It is off topic a bit I guess.....
But only a little bit..
