Am i correct that you got some inspiration from an octupus for the cockpit design ? :) looks cool

thanks!
i'd say about 50% is modelled from splines, if not more. nope, thats just the basic scanline in max

sweet, but you gave'm a dinky gun :D

it looks more like a strider from hl2 with an upper body of the Vulture from mechwarrior,
and that sure is a wee gun, load it up with a rocket launcher

thanks for the great comments everyone! more weapons coming soon, dont worry
heres an update, started adding textures, just basic for now, no bump or spec yet. i think i might add more geometry to the feet, not quite as filled out as i think they should be.

That is mad, kinda reminds me of Quadraxis from Metroid Prime 2.
I think the Chain gun is a cool gun for it, as a primary anyway.
Looking forward to an update.

Wow, such an impressive model. Expertly detailed, can't wait till I reach that stage. Only thing that looks little strange is that there are so many parts such and cables, gears, and wires on the outside, that it looks really vulnerable to enemy fire. I love it! :D
thats great, nice job,
but i am not a big fan of the "shoes". I prefer the first end of the legs you did, "pointed", more spider.

I somewhat agree but I think the size of these are beter though, they make it look more sturdy... Maybe change the shape to have more of a point but I like the size and the fan of the new ones. Ermmm... On second though I dunno I think they look good this way...

Cool! but I would slow it down a bit. The speed makes it look very small...like a toy.
keep up the great work!

The animation is ok... but I don't know the correct dimension of your robospider! In the animation looks like a little mechanoid on the table. (Indeed, the "shoes" is not a good choise ...but the anatomy of the feet is great!)

great modelling indeed, and i do agree that you should slow down the walk.
If it's a smaller spider (like the size of a real spider in a scene), then the speed is fine, however, if it's large (which I assume it will be), then perhaps cushion the ins and outs of the animations, and slow down the motion and increase the arcs, that'll give him more mass. :)
