Guys ive read up the learning maya 6 book regarding .bot textures and .map textures. Currently im working on a huge layered shader with multiple textures (bump, grass, lines, etc etc ) for an american football field.

Ive searched CGtalk but ive only seen bits of info on it. I was hoping someone could shed light on the subject. What exactly do I do? drag and drop the texture onto the imfcopy? and if its a layerd shader? do i just use imfcopy on the individual textures that are tiled alot? like the grass which is tiled at like 1000 by 1000 for one shot due to the closeup. will they all still work together?

Could someone please do a detailed writeup? i read somewhere about a highend 3d plugin but i would like to avoid that as im using a school computer with very little rights. Oh last thing. im on a Macintosh. does this make the mel script or method any different?

any flags i need to type or something like that? or do i simply drag and drop on imfcopy and reapply. anything i have to change after that? thanks guys i really appreciate it. im just really confused and u guys will be a big big big help :D

cheers
