Hi, I am trying to achieve this effect with Max7/VRay where the light seems to spill in round the edges of a window. Can someone please point me towards which part of the software i should be looking at?

Any guidance here would be much appreciated...

as seen in this image:

Thanks very much

Well there's really 2 ways (besides the post-effects) that you can achieve this effect with VRay. One way is to use a strong VRay light (VRay light shadows look remarkable and very realistic in my opinion) and place it wherever needed. Unfortunately I forgot the other method but I will let you know once I find out (it has something to do with maps in the material editor). I Personally wouldn't advise that you use the post-glow effect because the results don't look great in my opinion...but try to experiment if you want :D

"other method" .. you mean using 3d fog attached to a light?
Cause thats pretty much it. Post glow and an intense light source *which is whats in the image posted* or volumefog.
