Hi & welcome, Noen

your images look good! IMO the only thing in need of some tweaking is the light setup. Iīd recommend Jeremy Birns book "Digital lighting and rendering" if you donīt already know it.

Very nice, I like the chess board a lot. Like Pit says the lighting could do with a bit of work but yeah, very nice. :)

Were the batteries the first thing you did in cinema? the reason I ask is because that was the first thing I did, I saw a picture on a coverdisc of a magazine and thought it was amazing so I tried to copy it.

oh thank you!

yes, batteries were the first - i did the textures in illustrator

the shotglass w/ caustics i did last night after reading a post
here on the topic - it isnt quite what i had in mind but i thought i would put it up anyways

BTW, about me

i usually browse/read this forum using the public library
computers and save files and articles to my superdisk - i
carry that back home - Acsension Place, transitional housing
for women - to my 400mghz G3 w/ 512megs RAM, 20 gig HD

i am .....hummm..... in my forties and i hope one day to work
in the 3D/graphic design field - its what i love to do

i am a pretty good visual artist too and am self-taught in everything

sorry about the crappy tripod homepage - ill fix it up soon

thanks

welcome aboard, noen!

nice images, maybe you wanna try some different camera-angles on the chess-scene as well to give it more drama to it. (like a shouldershot from the king's view towards the knight, who puts the king in chess...) ;)
great start and amazing work in illustrator with those batterie-textures.. i'm a freehand-kinda-guy, but if i would have to do a texture like these, i would just scan them instead of doing them myself ;)
