View Full Version : Techniques with Lace
UrbanKunoichi 03-27-2006, 01:18 AM Lately I have been trying to paint a woman who will wear a dark purple dress with a ton of lace on it, but I am horrible at painting fabrics, especially lace. Any techniques or help? Everything is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
By the way, anyone know of good sites where I could find lace patterns? I've been sitting here scratching some paper to pieces but I can't put down anything that looks nice, looking for inspiration.

Well, I haven't actually tried painting lace, but I guess what you could do is try faintly painting in the pattern with a light color over a dark, and then lightly highlighting where the light would hit. But very lightly.
Actually, if you can find some close-up of some of Linda's work, you should be able to get the general gist of how its done.
Good luck!
