Originally it was just a monk in front of a sunset I painted. This being the year Mortal Kombat came out I added the lightning and the effect was instant.

It was chosen as a winner in the MK: Deadly Alliance fan art contest and is featured in the game in the krypt. You can find it under QO and it cost 1616 gold koins.

Straight acrylic painting. It took about 2 weeks painting 1 hour a day during a school class.

It's nice, but this is a computer graphics/digital artwork related forum board. :curious:

CGTalk doesn't require computer created art. I like seeing stuff like this in here as well. Not to mention that this picture is in Mortal Kombat itself so that does make it digital art. RIGHT?!?!? OOOOoooo schooled!!!12111!

If it's posted in the galleries, then it's officially recognized by the site. It's an insult to the moderators to say what they approved does'nt belong here...

It has all been brought up before, but I have no problem seeing a few, it's just I'm sure lots of other people on this site have beautiful traditional art, but there are more suitable places for it. :)

Just because the subject matter of a painting was originally digital, does not make a painting, painted with a traditional medium, 'digital art'. :curious:

I guess its a good thing the ol digital/analog discussion is the only thing you guys are arguing about. :D Truthfully I just submitted this to my gallery and I think I hit the wrong checkbox because I didn't intend to submit it. Even so I hope you enjoy it.
