CGTalk - light tutorials

I am trying to light my scene up but since I am a new to this... it will just not look right.

Does anyone know some basic tutorials about lights?

lighting is a subtle subject - maybe give GI Joe a try - www.pixho.com - with an additional directional light casting shadows (simulating the sun) you can have some pretty decent results in no time
