Hi Guys...

How do I avoid getting Ramps while doing some Color Correction or Gamma/ Gain in C4...?

Actually I have a few sequences of footages of the City...where in I have to Color Correct them & comp clouds & make it look like a rainy day...!

The city is shot in normal daylight which I have to change into kind of darker light for a rainy effect...so now when I use the Color Corrector or the Gamma Gain tools I get ramps in the Images...so how do I avoid them...?

Thanks...

Well... you're kind of screwed actually. Unless you're applying a few specific operators which would actually benefit from upsampling your footage to 10 or 12 bit color depth, it sounds like your original footage just isn't high enough quality to do what you want without banding. It wouldn't hurt to apply a color depth operator before the cc, just to see if that helps, but I wouldn't rate your chances as very high.

8bit files are quite limiting in their flexibility.

Hi...

I tried converting the bit & it gave a better output...so I have stuck with that only...

Thank You man...

But may I know where can I find the "color depth" operator that you have mentioned...?

Thanks again...!

This operator Bit depht converter is localized in the color section, the same section where is find the color corrector
