my friend wants to download blender, he has a macintosh, and the download for it is still a zip file on the blender site, so how exactly would he get over this problem?

Depending on what version of OSX he has, he should read the information here:

If he can't figure it out, let us know.

i'm a long time mac user.

i've never had a problem with .zip files.

Stuffit Expander can decompress .zip files!
