Is it ok to wire directly to the bone object's height value within Parameter Wiring dialogue window so that when a rotation is achieved, set the bone's height value to x else y?

What sort of pit falls would one get into?

Note these would be single bone objects that don't have a 'nub' bone at it's end, but the bone would either be position/orientation contrained to or linked to other bones that existed within a heirarchy.

why would you want to do this?

changing the the bone parameters will not affect the hierachy - im not sure what you are trying to do here

Do you mean length? Im slightly confused to. Height as in hieght and width? Adjusting these on the fly wont change skinning.

saw it and the other bone parameter values and wondered if any of them could be wired to custom attributes and by changing the ca, the bone's changing values would affect the skinned mesh.

I think that others have tried to tell you is that changing a bones width/height will NOT affect skin at all. Only transforms in bones will affect Skin.
