View Full Version : Modeling the Dave Way
Joel Hooks 12-22-2002, 08:29 PM I've been working through the tutorial at http://www.thehobbitguy.com
I really enjoy his method for modeling a head. It's pretty unique in regards to how you start out. I also like the focus on proper edge loops, it's very challenging to see how the geometry should flow while mainting proper quads. The resulting mesh is clean and easy to modify. Very nice.
Is it bad form to post tutorial work? Ah well... :)

Hehe, nope, don't think it's bad at all, and it's probably nice for the tutorial maker to see the result and see he did help :) You got a nice result there, I tried to "port" the tutorial to max but without result (not max fault, much more mine) Ab

I'm not done yet, I just thought I'd post now. I reworked the nose (among other things) last night and had a system crash. Silly me, ctrl-s is so easy to hit too! 2 hours down the crapper :surprised
I am a little unmotivated to finish it off, just because it's Dave's concept, a tutorial, and therefore not well suited for portfolio - I think I am gonna see it through. The wrinkles will be fun and challenging anyway.

As predicted the wrinkling is pretty fun. The tweaking of verts is so addictive. Endless...
