View Full Version : G.H.O.S.T. Ops: The Avalon Project Render Tests
illOgic 12-22-2002, 06:59 PM Half-life Mod G.H.O.S.T. Ops model rendered in Deep Exploration, then shadow, eye effects and edges smoothed out in photoshop. the skin is not final, i will prolly reskin once i get the model remeshed, this one is kinda messy. im not a modeler, so i dont have any idea how to render, so i must find creative ways to do so.
what you guys think?

HAHAH thats funny cause i had one guy comment that the famas was excellent, and at least it was a g36c or something like that. ehehe
i guess really its a preference. i will prolly do the visor down, and replace the weapons with something a little more stealthy, and then do a visor up and have the weapons he is currently carrying.
everyone seem to have there own opnion about the guns. :)

changed the weapon to a PSG1. seemed more fitting for that class. :)

the PSG-1 is cool, I just don't like the FA-MAS for some reason. . . dunno why. . .
you got a Sig 550 in your arsenal? that could look cool. . . or some stoner variant. . .
OOOOOO! oh a walther 2000!

we are now working on a action shot, and pose shot for each player, 8 in all. the one above is the ghost recon "pose shot" this one is the action shot.
once again, rendered in 3dexploration, and smoothed, enhanced and edited in phototshop.

the FAMAS Rifle is not THAT bad, its just alot of gamers who know absolutly NOTHING saying it sucks, becuase they arn't good with it in games... If you want a truly Spec OP weapon, a G36 with a red dot would work as good longer range rifle (it looks alot like a PSG-1 but has more accuracy), or a mp5... If you wanted you could prolly slap a Canadian sniper rifle (its a special m16 ).

I like the guy with the MP5, but there is something wrong ith the muzzleflash. It's too "ball-like" and as far as I know, you are going to make a realistic mod, so don't waste a(may be)brilliant game and idea with bad muzzleflashes :shame:

well the muzzle flash was just made in photoshop and added. lol by me, so yea, its not the best, but you should have seen the ones before that. :) ill try and make it better.

The muzzle flash on your second pic is too suppressed for the size of the barrel on that auto. The spent shells should also be coming out more of an arc, with the first shel being the one that favors the strike point towards the ground (the heaviest part of the casing).
Those are pretty sexy!!
is this HL?

it is HL, the models are .mdl format that im rendering in deep exploration. then using photoshop to smooth edges, and soften shadows.

A buddy of mine's uncle was in special forces in the 70's and 80's. He cringes every time anyone says Spec Ops since thats incorrect. Unless the games are about logistics.

spec ops - special operations, no that sounds right, at least in Canada, special operations - anything other then normal, mission useing key group movement and higher level skill... basicly not a full onsluaght of the military. Spec. Op. works.

I don't think he was contesting the meaning, just the use. . . it's just another stupid name that people come up with for specialized military groups. . .
looks good illogic but the head still seems to short
